OPERATIVES of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) arrested two policemen on charges of psychological abuse and murder, respectively, in separate operations in Cagayan and Rizal.
One of the suspects, Patrolman Adrian France Balderas, is currently taking a Basic Internal Security Operation Course at Camp Marcelo Adduru in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
IMEG announced on Wednesday night the arrest of Balderas last October 5.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant for violation of Sec 5 (Acts of violence against women and their children) of Republic Act 92962 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
The complaint was filed by the cop’s ex-girlfriend, who was allegedly subjected to psychological abuse by Balderas in 2021.
A P72,000 bail was set for the temporary liberty of Balderas, who is currently under the custody of the Tuguegarao City police station.
IMEG also announced the arrest of dismissed Caloocan City policeman Corporal Jayvee Rommel Vicencio.
Vicencio was nabbed last October 8 at East Bellvue, San Isidro in Rodriguez, Rizal for the murder of Bulacan policeman Patrolman Jefferson Valencia in Caloocan City in July last year.
Seized from Vicencio was a cal. 45 pistol with expired registration.
Vicencio went into hiding after he was implicated in the murder of Valencia. He was later marked as Absent Without Official Leave and subsequently dismissed from the police service.
He is currently detained at the IMEG custodial center in Camp Crame.
