TWO suspected Chinese drug dealers were arrested and three kilos of alleged shabu worth more than P20 million were seized by anti-narcotics operatives in Quezon City on Wednesday night.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency identified the suspects as Shiliang Zeng, 49, and Jack Lee, 44, residents of Quezon City.
They are believed connected with another Chinese alleged drug dealer, Tianzhu Lyu, 32, who was arrested with a Filipino cohort, Meliza Villanueva, in a buy-bust operation in Valenzuela City last Tuesday.
Lyu and Villanueva yielded 160 kilos of alleged shabu worth P1.1 billion, which is so far the largest drug haul.
An initial report from PDEA said Zeng and Lee were arrested by personnel from PDEA, PNP, AFP and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency at around 11:30 p.m. during a buy-bust operation at Unit 705 Nice Hotel on Saint Mary St., Barangay E. Rodriguez.
The two, described as “high-value targets” in the campaign against illegal drugs, were nabbed after selling a kilo of shabu, worth P6.9 million, to a poseur buyer. Also seized from them were two additional kilos of shabu, worth P13.8 million; the buy-bust money; two cell phones, and documents.
Two more suspected drug pushers, identified as Mark Destex Fernandez and Pendathon Ramos Azes, were arrested in separate police operations in Cebu and Negros Oriental also on Wednesday night.
Fernandez, 31, was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tubod, Barangay Candulawan in Talisay City, Cebu at around 8:35 p.m. He yielded 1.02 grams of shabu, worth P6.93 million.
Azes, 33, was arrested in another buy-bust operation in Purok Katubhan, Barangay Bajmpandan in Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental at around 8:07 p.m. He yielded 700 grams of shabu, worth P4.76 million.
Three persons were arrested and ₱21,080 worth of suspected dangerous drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation in Pasig City on Wednesday.
