TWO Chinese were apprehended recently by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in Pampanga for serious illegal detention.

The operation that led to the arrest of Huan Heng Su and De Long Wang last November 21 was carried out by operatives from the NBI-Pampanga District Office, Central Luzon Regional Office, and the agency’s International Operations Division based on the complaint filed by the Filipina girlfriend of another Chinese who claimed that her boyfriend, working in a scam hub operated by the suspects, was being detained by his employers.

The complainant alleged that her boyfriend, working as a customer service representative in Paranaque City, was transferred to Angeles City, Pampanga last October 31 together with other Chinese employees.

The NBI said the complainant’s boyfriend was being forced to work against his will for 18 hours a day.

When he informed his employers that he wanted to resign, the NBI said they refused and threatened to torture him.

Armed with this information, the NBI operatives proceeded to Angeles City and rescued the victim.

During the operation, the victim identified Huan and De Long who were prohibiting him from going out of their workplace under the threat of physical torture.

The NBI operatives arrested Huan and De Long and rescued 15 more Chinese working there.

The NBI filed complaints against the two for serious illegal detention as penalized under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code.
