OPERATIVES of the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) arrested in Mabalacat, Pampanga two Chinese behind the kidnapping of a fellow Chinese and a Vietnamese, the AKG reported yesterday.
The AKG identified the suspects as Huang Jun, 26, and Lu Zhillin, 22, residents of Clark Majestic World condominium, on Prince Balagtas Highway in Mabalacat
They were arrested by AKG operatives early last Sunday at the vicinity of their condominium and are now facing charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
The operation stemmed from the kidnapping of Vietnamese Vo Nguyen Huyen Chau, a customer service agent at an online gaming company. She was abducted last May 11 at the PBCom Building in Makati City.
After learning of the kidnapping last May 13, the AKG formed a team “to collate information relative to the early solution of the case.”
But the victim’s family paid a P600,000 ransom to the kidnappers at around 9 p.m. last May 14. This led to the release of the victim two hours later in front of a mall in Angeles City, Pampanga.
During debriefing, Nguyen told the police that she was brought to the mall by a Filipino driver using a red Toyota Vios car. She said she was held by her captors at the 6th floor of the Clark Majestic World.
AKG operatives, together with the victim, went to the World Majestic World and coordinated with the security guards of the condominium, who informed them the Toyota vehicle of the kidnappers had just entered the compound.
While looking for the car, AKG operatives saw three Chinese-looking individuals going out of the building and noticed that one of them was in handcuffs.
Two of the men without handcuffs, who later turned out to be Jun and Zhillin, ran after seeing the policemen but were later arrested.
The man in handcuffs, a kidnap victim, was rescued by the policemen. He was identified as Li Jin Le, a Chinese who was kidnapped by the suspects at around 8:30 p.m. last May 14 at the Yi Gouxian restaurant in Angeles City.
