2.5M students register early for schoolyear 2022-2023

MORE than 2.5 million incoming kindergarten and Grades 1, 7 and 11 students have so far have availed of the early registration program for school year 2022-2023.

As of April 25, data provided by the Department of Education showed that 2,571,170 have availed of the early registration, which started last March 25 and will end on April 30.

Of the early registrants, 566,374 are incoming kindergarten pupils, 978,300 are Grade 1 pupils, 551,281 are Grade 7 students and 475, 215 are Grade 11, or senior high school students.

Region 4-A (Calabarzon) topped the regions with the highest number of early registrants with 257,849, followed by Region 5 (Bicol) with 232,889 and the National Capital Region with 190,317.

Regions 10 (Northern Mindanao) and 8 (Eastern Visayas) reported 185,378 and 185,366 registrants, respectively.

With four days left before registration ends, the DepEd urged parents to avail of the early registration program.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the early registration will enable the department “to make the necessary preparations and adjustment of plans” for the incoming school year.
