ALMOST two out of 10 Filipinos aspire to live abroad, the December 10 to 14 survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.
The survey, which involved 1,200 adult respondents nationwide with a margin of error of 2.8 percent, also showed that 17 percent aspire to live abroad while 83 percent prefer to stay in the country.
SWS also found that 7 percent of Filipinos are currently looking for work abroad while 93 percent are searching for employment in the country.
For Pinoys, Canada is the top choice for employment with 16 percent, followed by Saudi Arabia (12 percent), Kuwait and United Arab Emirates (9 percent each), Japan (7 percent), and Qatar and the United States (6 percent each).
The survey also said that 7 percent of Filipino households currently have a member who is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW).
Of the number, 75 percent said the OFW gives or sends money to the family while 17 percent said they sometimes send, 5 percent said they seldom send and 3 percent said they never send money.
