OVERSEAS Filipino workers (OFWs) previously deployed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will get the opportunity to find new jobs when the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) holds a job fair for them and their families this Saturday in Mandaluyong City.

In an advisory, the DMW said at least 16,000 job opportunities will be made available for displaced Saudi OFWs and their families at the Job and Livelihood Fair set at the Star Mall on EDSA.

will be offered to the OFWs from Saudi Arabia and their family members,” said the DMW.

It said the activity is set to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 2nd Floor of Star Mall. No other details were available as of press time.

Some 9,000 OFWs were repatriated from Saudi Arabia from January 2016 to December 2019 after they were displaced from their jobs. Majority returned home with unpaid wages and benefits.

Hundreds of OFWs are also regularly repatriated by the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) due to various reasons.

Last November 7, the Philippines reopened the Saudi Arabia market after almost a year of suspending deployment there.
