THE National Bureau of Investigation has nabbed 15 Chinese allegedly running two prostitution dens in Las Pinas City catering to their compatriots.

NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said they initially arrested three men last December 10 in a hotel in Almanza while they were escorting Chinese customers who made online bookings for Chinese prostitutes.

Three days later, Lavin said the agency nabbed nine Chinese men and three Chinese women in another building in the city and rescued five women in a prostitution den.

Lavin said the group charged their customers P8,000 to P18,000 per hour.

Joel Tovera, chief of the NBI’s anti-organized and transnational crime division, said the group arranged meetings between their clients and the prostitutes through a messaging app.

Lavin said majority of the customers of the group were Chinese employees of offshore gaming operators or POGOs.

He said the arrested suspects were charged with human trafficking before the city prosecutors’ office. — Ashzel Hachero
