FOURTEEN of the 19 firearms initially reported to be owned by wanted Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy have been sold to three individuals with similar surnames, the PNP said yesterday.
A representative of Quiboloy, Marlon Acobo, surrendered to the PNP five firearms owned by Quiboloy last May 2. He also presented documents showing that the remaining 14 firearms were already sold.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame, PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said six of the 14 firearms, all pistols, were sold to a certain “Cresente Canada.”
Fajardo said they are determining if Cresente Canada is the same Cresente Canada who is among Quiboloy’s five co-accused Quiboloy in the sexual abuse case pending before the Davao City regional trial court. She has earlier surrendered to authorities and posted bail.
Fajardo did not name the two other Canadas who bought the eight other firearms from Quibiloy.
She said, though, that one of them, a male, bought five firearms from Quiboloy, while the other, a female, bought three.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil approved last month the recommendation of the its Firearms and Explosives Office to revoke the firearms registration and license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) of Quiboloy, initially placed at 19 firearms.
The PNP said the law allows the revocation of firearms registration and LTOPF of gun holders facing capital offenses.
Fajardo said if the Cresente Canada who bought the firearms from Quiboloy is indeed the co-accused of Quiboloy, the PNP will deliberate to also revoke her firearms registration and LTOPF.
On the manhunt operations against Quiboloy, Fajardo said the PNP has been receiving “different information” as to his whereabouts.
