IMMIGRATION authorities have arrested in separate operations 13 Vietnamese nationals allegedly running illegal health spas and clinics in southern Metro Manila.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said the 13 were apprehended in four clinics in Makati, Parañaque and Pasay on February 29.

“We received intelligence information about their presence and activities, hence I immediately ordered their arrest,” Tansingco said, adding that the foreigners failed to present documentation during the arrest, “hence making them undocumented aliens.”

Tansingco said the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has filed cases against the 13 Vietnamese for working without a proper permit or visa, in violation of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, and for being undocumented aliens.

“These illegal aliens are operating their business in broad daylight, perhaps thinking that they will not be caught,” the BI chief said.
