TWELVE dioceses under the Ecclesiastical Province of Manila are set to hold a Conference on Prayer on August 31 (Saturday) at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Santa Rosa, Laguna with hundreds of clergymen and lay leaders expected to participate.
Set to participate are representatives of the dioceses of San Pablo, Manila,
Antipolo, Cubao, Novaliches, Pasig, Parañaque, Imus, Kalookan, and Malolos, and the apostolic vicariates of Taytay and Puerto Princesa,
Pasig Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara is set to serve as the main speaker of the prayer convention.
The Church group Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas (LAIKO), in a social media post, the announced the holding of the prayer convention dubbed as “Buklod Panalangin: Bukal ng Pag-asa” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“May this prayer convention fit into this context as a way of fostering our relationship with the Lord, and offering moments of genuine spiritual rest,” said the LAIKO.
“It is like an oasis sheltered from daily stress, where prayer becomes nourishment for the Christian life of faith, hope, and charity,” it added.
LAIKO said the event is also part of preparations for the great Jubilee Year 2025, of which Pope Francis declared the year 2024 as a “Year of Prayer.”
