BEAUTY player L’Oréal Philippines has opened a bigger and technology advanced distribution center in Calamba, Laguna which expands its capacity and improves speed of dispersion by over 30 percent.
The company said in a statement the new 60,000-square meter distribution center is three times bigger than the previous hub and has seven times more storage.
The facility is strategically located in South Luzon, in proximity to the distribution sites of major retailer-partners, the company said.
Yassine Bakkari, country managing director of L’Oréal Philippines, said in a statement the new distribution hub will enable the company “ bring the best of beauty to more Filipinos in a sustainable and scalable manner.”
The hub is powered by renewable energy sources and equipped with smart lighting and rainwater collection system to minimize its environmental footprint.
The facility has eliminated the use of plastic in its packaging processes, utilizing Forest Stewardship Council-certified cartons and water-activated paper tape for all orders.
L’Oréal has piloted the use of electric vehicles in the transportation of its products.
The hub’s operations also support local communities through the inclusive sourcing program which provides livelihood opportunities to Filipinos from vulnerable backgrounds.
The project was made possible through a strategic partnership with Maersk, a global leader in logistics.
