AboitizLand Seafront supports earth-friendly sailing

WITH a string of 7,641 charming islands and an infinite coastline of powdery beaches, an exciting way to explore the archipelago is by sailing around them in a fun and adventure-laden tournament.

Leading property developer AboitizLand just did this by partnering with the Philippine Inter-Island Sailing Federation (Phinsaf) in the recent 20th Philippine Hobie Challenge which sailed from San Juan, Batangas to Boracay Island.

Regarded as the country’s premier international extreme sailing event, the five-day regatta promotes earth-friendly sailing aboard the Hobie Cat 16, a 16-foot long, twin-hulled wind-powered sailboat capable of negotiating open seas.

According to AboitizLand first vice-president for operations Rafa de Mesa, the partnership the sailing group highlighted the eco-sports thrust of Seafront Residences, a growing township at the famed Laiya beach colony.

“It was a great opportunity to showcase how Seafront’s residents will enjoy the benefits of living by the sea. To carry out our vision of a community enjoying the abundance of life by the sea, we turned to DPZ, a Florida-based master planner renowned for their beach developments such as Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach and Seaside,” he enthused.

De Mesa noted AboitizLand recognizes its residents’ need for a peaceful respite to pursue life’s passions, and Seafront Residences is the answer to the thalassophile in them.

Seafront Residences offers house and lots, parks and outdoor amenity areas, as well as Residences and Villas designed and inspired by world-class designers Budji+Royal Architecture and ArcoGroup, respectively, featuring modern Filipino styles with panoramic viewdecks.

The property also has the Seafront Villas or condominium by the beach which is an ideal investment for personal use or leasing. Each villa has eight 1-bedroom units with balcony, two 2-bedroom garden units, and 10 parking spaces.

For residents’ recreational and socialization needs, it has the Seafront Town Center, a cozy lifestyle hub for dining, retail and leisure.

Philippine Hobie Challenge is a recipient of the 2016 Philippine Sports Tourism Awards, and is a unique way to sharpen sailing skills, create environmental awareness, promote adventure sports, and extend outreach programs, particularly among public elementary schools in coastal villages.

This year’s edition is a throwback to its original route when the regatta was introduced in 1999.

With world-class amenities and the inviting waters of Tayabas Bay, Seafront Residences may soon be a new aquasports haven in Batangas.
