Winford Manila Resort and Casino (WMRC), in partnership with the Philippine Amusement & Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), hosted on Thursday the fourth Paskong Pasasalamat mula sa PAGCOR at WINFORD MANILA, an annual Christmas gift-giving and meal-sharing activity for the less fortunate citizens of neighboring barangays.
The beneficiaries of the WMRC-PAGCOR community outreach initiative were identified and selected by their barangay captains, with whom both proponents have maintained a close and healthy relationship since the luxury casino hotel opened its doors to the public in 2017.
Present during the activity were WMRC President & Chief Operating Officer Jeff Evora; PAGCOR Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Andrea Domingo; and PAGCOR Branch Manager Jethro Chancoco.
“The year 2020 has been a challenging one and this global pandemic might not be the best way to start a new decade. However, we find strength knowing that it is in the character of the Filipino to find ways to end the year on a high note,” said Evora.
“Paskong Pasasalamat has been Winford Manila Resort & Casino’s annual Christmas outreach program since 2017. It is our way of giving back to the local community who has welcomed us here in Sta. Cruz, Manila, ever since we opened our doors almost four years ago. Winford Manila would not be where it is today if not for their continuous support.”
In attendance were appoximately 150 less fortunate members of the community to receive their gifts and enjoy a yuletide brunch courtesy of WMRC and PAGCOR, in the hope that it helps spread happiness and brightens their holiday season.
Social distancing measures were taken and strictly enforced to ensure that the health and safety of all participants were not compromised.
