Voice lessons are great for individuals of all ages, including seniors, who are interested in learning how to sing. Singing is not only a valuable skill but also a wonderful recreational activity and hobby that can bring joy and fulfillment.

For seniors, learning to sing offers numerous benefits, including enhanced cognitive abilities and increased social interaction, all of which contribute to overall well-being and quality of life.

Sunshine Place offers private singing lessons with Ms. Patricia Carpio, an honor graduate of St. Scholastica College’s School of Music who has taught voice lessons to students ranging from child to adults. She is dedicated to providing personalized instruction and tailors her lesson plans to suit each student’s prior knowledge and capabilities. By focusing on the unique strengths and areas for improvement of each individual, she ensures an engaging learning experience that fosters vocal growth and confidence.

The voice lessons begin with essential warm-up exercises to prepare the vocal cords. Also included are lessons on proper breathing, eight intonation, proper support in singing, Legato singing or connected singing, stage presence and song interpretation. Enrollees will learn singing with all the concepts learned.

To enhance the learning experience, Sunshine Place provides access to a karaoke machine and other necessary materials and equipment. Every lesson is tailored to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring an engaging and effective learning journey.

The one-hour class is conducted every Mondays by appointment.
