The hospitality industry is one of those severely affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
For the past year, Sheraton Manila Hotel been turned into a quarantine hotel heavily relying on the quarantine and takeaway business while keeping very little of its local and international partnerships.
Anna Liza Vergara, Sheraton Manila general manager, said that the hotel tried promoting the staycation concept but families were still reluctant to go out. They also shifted to takeaway service to gain back lost revenue from dine-in services. Multi-tasking also came in to compensate for limited manpower.
According to Vergara, the hotel’s resiliency and teamwork are the two reasons why it is still in the industry and is going stronger.
Pre-pandemic, Sheraton Manila has already started its sustainable efforts through its plant-based items available in S Kitchen. It is rolling out its reusable water bottle to replace plastic bottles, and its hotel amenities will soon transition to residential amenities using dispensers.
Sheraton likewise provided online resources and activities that will address health and wellness by keeping associates engaged.
“It will still be a long ride ahead, but we are going to get there. With the ease of the protocols and the slow opening of international borders, we are already seeing a lift in our occupancy and increased activities in both our restaurants and meeting spaces.”
Meanwhile, the hotel has a lot in store for everyone this yuletide season. Starting off with its rooms with Staycay Holidays. “We have Staycay Your Way 2.0 but with the yuletide twist,” she shared.
Sheraton Manila joins the Resorts World Manila’s Staycay Your Way 2.0, a campaign that aims to redefine travel and enhance customer experience. Tailor-made for guest’s needs and preferences, this ultimate staycation offer includes unlimited food and beverage, and upcycled pajamas as part of the hotel’s sustainability movement.
Guests can bring their family together or get creative with a loved one. Snap a photo while they decorate their own cake with a cake kit delivered to the room.
They will also enjoy a selection of favorite snacks and drinks with the option to fill the room’s fridge with three of their favorite beverages from cocktails, smoothies, juice, coffee, and four snacks such as chips, popcorn, fresh fruits, candies or chocolates.
They can take a dip at the Vega Pool. Kids too young to enjoy some of the activities, may join the Kids Club where they can play video games, sing along to their favorite songs at the karaoke or watch movies.
Dinner is served from 6 to 10 p.m. at Oori with unlimited Korean barbecue on a set menu prepared by its Korean chef or indulge in an international buffet at S Kitchen.
A puzzle night comes complete with unlimited popcorn buckets. A sumptuous breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. at the S Kitchen awaits with a choice of local comfort favorites or a complete Western meal to jumpstart the day.
Before checking out at 3 p.m., guests can fuel up with an unlimited lunch at Oori or S Kitchen.
“We also have the New Year’s Eve Dinner by the Balcony for those guests who want to celebrate the coming of 2022 in the comfort of their own room overlooking the Vega Pool,” Vergara mentioned.
“Our Vubble pods are also in full swing with a six-course dinner for the Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinner,” she said.
“We will have a New Year’s Eve countdown inside our COLLAB where a full buffet with unlimited wine will be served,” she added.
Various festive hampers are available for guests for their gift options, plus a wide spread of holiday offers in their menus. It also has hampers from its Shine Spa perfect for those who are in for a stress-free relaxation.
Sheraton Manila welcomes guests back, with its “Commitment to Clean” program where it is committed to providing guests with a safe environment that aligns with experts’ protocols for working to defeat COVID-19.
It has its own Marriott Cleanliness Council that redefines its cleaning and safety standards.
“We are actively monitoring and evolving our solutions to ensure a continued focus on the health and safety of our guests and associates,” Vergara noted.
