TMI Food Processing Development, Inc. (TMIFPDI), the leading manufacturer of the popular Tobi brand, is celebrating 60 years of manufacturing excellence in the Philippines. This significant milestone marks six decades of pursuing excellence in processing and developing nuts and peanuts, transforming them into healthy snacks for Filipinos.

Since its establishment in 1965, TMIFPDI has successfully transitioned from a small operation of “tingi tingi” repacking nuts and peanuts through Purity Repacking in Sta. Ana, Manila to a thriving business. Tobi’s manufacturing operations started in Malate in 1970 and then moved to Parañaque in 1980. Over the years, the snacking found its niche—offering nuts as an ingredient to other food related products. Tobi now has an impressive client base that includes industrial companies, supermarkets, popular fast-food chains, five-star hotels, and airline commissaries.

“Purpose has become our North Star—always driving us with that deep sense of meaning and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world and not just thinking about financial success,” shared TMIFPDI President Henderson Go.

The family patriarch and the founder of Tobi, Andres Go added “it is not just about growing the business, but it is about doing the business with an unwavering purpose—I believe the company will continue to thrive in the next 60 years or more if my children and grandchildren could firmly hold on to that.”

In addition to attributing the unwavering purpose to the company’s success is the unrelenting commitment to improvement. Tobi continues to adapt and improve its processes and products.

For Tobi, the six-decade milestone is not just a celebration of history and tradition but also a thanksgiving to the people who contributed to the success of TMIFPDI, including employees, customers, suppliers, and partners. This is a recognition of the collective effort that has brought the company to where it is today.

President Go added “we are immensely grateful to our employees for their hard work and dedication. Their contributions are truly invaluable to our success.” To this day, TMIFPDI has employed over 500 residents in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque.

As TMIFPDI looks to the future, it remains committed to building a sustainable future—enhance the livelihood of residents, particularly in the neighborhood of Parañaque, make progress through environmental performance, and foster strong partnerships with its partners and suppliers.

“With our unwavering purpose and continuous improvement in the manufacturing business, we hope to continue to help uplift communities in our nation,” added President Go.
