Social media has had sea changes in how people consume content. Today, adventurous foodies scroll through their feeds in search of the next food destination. From hidden holes in the walls to the newest and hippest restaurants, going viral on social media is a surefire way to draw in customers.
TikTok is one of the world’s largest social media networks and it is no surprise that Filipinos have also joined in droves. The platform recently tied up with Megaworld Lifestyle Malls to celebrate TikTok’s first food festival. The grounds of Eastwood Mall was turned into a food bazaar where guests can enjoy the top food destinations in the social media platform.
From chewy cookies, to mounds of crispy chicken skin and other Filipino street food favorites, to refreshing cups of juice, coffee, and milk tea, guests were spoiled for choice during the 3-day festival.
“We invited the top 30 food destinations in our platform as well as some of the tenants of Megaworld. TikTok has a geotagging feature which we use as one of our metrics to find which spots are the most popular among our users,” Jameson Lopez, TikTokCreator Management — Food Category said
“We are delighted to partner with TikTok for a food event of this magnitude as each of our capabilities are put on full display. We at Megaworld have always been about promoting small businesses and we are more than thrilled to provide an avenue for them to showcase their products through this Food Fest and have everyone #TasteTheWorld with us,” Megaworld Lifestyle Malls head Graham Coates shared.
