Inspired by the essence of Proverbs 24:3-4 which proclaims, “By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures,” Ongchangco’s paintings pay homage to the role of wisdom and understanding in not only constructing homes but also shaping the tapestry of life itself and the treasures that are found within the bonds of family. “The Houses He Builds” invites viewers to contemplate the profound message of Proverbs 24:3-4, offering a glimpse into the divine guidance and wisdom that shape our lives and homes. Each painting serves as a window into the homes God builds. It is a reminder that God is the ultimate builder, and through wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, the rooms of our existence can be filled with rare and beautiful treasures, truly creating the houses He builds in our lives. This exhibition is a testament to the spiritual and artistic journey of understanding the divine role in the construction of our earthly abodes.

Executed in his whimsical style, Ongchangco uses the emotions of nostalgia and sentimentality and allows his viewers to see themselves in his characters. The exhibit celebrates family and the individual roles that each member fills within the home. It also continues to showcase introspective journeys, realization of dreams and the colorful, fantastical world that only Ongchangco can create.
