Taiwan Expo 2025 returns to Philippines after six-year hiatus

The Taiwan Expo 2025 in the Philippines will return September 17-19 at SMX Convention Center Manila, marking Taiwan’s major post-pandemic re-engagement with the Philippine market. Organized by the Taiwan International Trade Administration and Taiwan External Trade Development Council, the expo held a special press conference on August 13th to preview innovations for Philippine media and industry leaders.

Over 140 leading Taiwanese companies will showcase products across five themed pavilions: Green & Sustainability, Agritech & Aquatech, Health & Wellness, Smart Technologies, and Intelligent Lifestyle. The exhibition aligns with Philippine government policies, evolving market demands, and emerging consumer trends.

Key stakeholders emphasized the strong potential for bilateral cooperation. Mr. Dustin Teng-Shi Yang, Minister of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, highlighted how Taiwan’s advanced technology and manufacturing capabilities complement the Philippines’ rapidly expanding market and youthful demographic. Ms. Atty. Evangeline Q. de Leon, Corporate Secretary of the Manila Economic and Cultural Office, noted the expo’s role as a crucial platform for bilateral business exchanges. Mr. Bryan Ang, Vice President for Trade of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, remarked on Taiwan’s reputation for technological innovation enhancing bilateral competitiveness.

The press conference showcased innovations addressing diverse Philippine market needs. In agritech and aquatech, companies demonstrated smart farming solutions, including Bluetooth soil monitoring and precision livestock management. Smart technologies featured intelligent person tracking systems and secure cloud infrastructure addressing cybersecurity concerns. Health and wellness exhibits highlighted AI-assisted medical software and smart healthcare applications, setting new standards in precision medicine.

Green and sustainability solutions included renewable hydrogen energy technology and innovative lithium battery applications responding to global energy transition needs. Intelligent lifestyle products featured premium hair care and skincare innovations that blend technology with aesthetics, showcasing Taiwan’s beauty industry strength.

The expo is expected to strengthen bilateral business exchanges, create commercial opportunities, and deepen cooperation in technology innovation, sustainable development, and healthcare, paving the way for enhanced Taiwan-Philippines economic collaboration.
