Pico Sands Hotel, led by Major General Sonny Manalo, recently concluded a Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) together with 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG) and Nasugbu National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The SAREX started off with lectures about Collapsed Structure Search/Rescue (CSSR) and Heli Air Rescue by the 505th SRG held at the Alegria Function Room. The lecture was attended by 53 participants and some select online participants from SMX Convention Center Manila, Park Inn Iloilo, Park Inn Bacolod, and Park Inn Davao. Welcome and closing remarks were addressed by General Manager of Pico Sands Hotel and Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club Mr Louie Pena and Chief of Nasugbu NDRRMC Mr Alex Pimentel respectively.
Short practical trainings on medical procedures followed the lecture. The participants were showed actual scenarios such as:
– How to bring down an injured guest from a collapsed structure
– Injured guest rescue from a vertical high angle
– Transfer of an injured guest to a land ambulance to an air ambulance
– Checking of vital signs by an Air Force Flight Surgeon and nurses prior to airlift
Certificates of appreciation were given to 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG) by General Manager of Pico Sands Hotel and Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club Mr Louie Pena and Chief of Nasugbu NDRRMC Mr Alex Pimentel.
This Search and Rescue Exercise is part of the safety and security training of all SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) properties. This program is done annually to ensure the welfare and well-being of all guests and colleagues.
