Safer, convenient rides

DyipPay, a cashless and cardless predictive mobile app uses an automated fare collection system, caters to various public utility transport groups and commuters and aims to further optimize the country’s public utility vehicle (PUV) fare collection system.

Eric Tan, DyipPay’s chief executive officer and founder, said they want to elevate the major modes of transportation like jeepneys and tricycles in the country. “We see this app as a way to give Filipinos a safer (commuting) experience,” he said.

The app streamlines the process of commuting for both PUVs and commuters as well as provides a dashboard for transport operators to show the different vehicle routes daily and a holistic view of the fleet’s earnings.

PUV drivers can use their mobile phones to monitor who has already paid the fare, and where to drop them off.

Commuters, on the other hand, are also able to see jeepneys ply routes and get a better alternative to manual fare collection, thus limiting physical contacts.

At present, it is the only mobile app that caters to PUVs, transport operators, and commuters in a unified platform, providing both an e-wallet and a predictive experience at virtually zero cost.

“Today’s many tasks can be done using mobile apps,” Tan said, adding “this is the beginning of revolutionizing and unifying the fare collection system for all PUVs.”

The app has been rolled out to select transport cooperatives in Central Luzon, mainly in Pampanga. It likewise eyes to expand to other areas such as Palawan, Puerto Princesa, and Cebu this year.
