Abi Tan’s fascination started when she discovered the rich flavor of local coffee beans. She started her coffee business, selling repacked local beans, and eventually opened a coffee stand in Ortigas and White Plains, Quezon City. When the pandemic hit, she shifted to selling bottled coffee online.
Running an online enterprise during the pandemic required an efficient payment system. “We preferred online payments, like bank transfers and e-wallets because it required less physical contact,” Abi explained.
She continued to enjoy the payment convenience when she opened 1C in Kapitolyo. She explained that most entrepreneurs use their e-wallet accounts for online payments. This could lead to problems, especially if the transactions are not closely monitored. Abi chose Starpay because it conveniently allows her to maintain a wallet for her money and another e-wallet for her business transactions.
A member of the Instapay network, Starpay provide a seamless and real-time payments acceptance from over 40 banks and e-wallets. Starpay merchants utilize the RCV (Real-time Collection and Validation) platform, which allows collection from multiple e-wallets and digital banking platforms.
“Our goal is to empower entrepreneurs with digital solutions that can grow with their business. We are always excited to see our merchants grow from a start-up home business to a stand-alone café, like 1C, now a popular establishment. We are constantly working with our merchants and partners to help them digitize their transactions and improve their business process,” said Ryan Uy, Starpay Head of Growth and Marketing.
