Taking a cue from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), the private sector is joining in the efforts to expand renal care services in the country.
This after Nipro Medical Philippines Corporation partnered with GC Hemodynamix, Inc. to install 300 dialysis machines and centers across the country.
“The partnership paved the way for the opening of new dialysis centers beginning March 2025, strategically located to reach more patients across the country,” said Nipro in a statement.
“In addition to establishing new centers, a portion of the 300 dialysis machines will be deployed to existing facilities to meet the increasing patient demand and improve operational efficiency,” it added.
The efforts were formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Nipro and GC Hemodynamix on October 25, 2024.
According to Dr. Gjay Ordinal, CEO and president of GC Hemodynamix, it is part of their core vision to improve accessibility and quality of health care.
“My mission is to provide every Filipino living with chronic kidney disease access to high-quality hemodialysis care, regardless of location. By enhancing logistics and with my partnership and collaboration with Nipro Medical Philippines Corporation, local healthcare professionals, and LGUs, we aim to close the gap between urban centers and remote areas,” said Ordinal.
Dennis G. Flores, managing director of Nipro Medical Philippines Corporation, said he sees the collaboration as the beginning of many impactful initiatives.
“Meaningful collaboration is built on shared purpose and empathy. Together, we can create momentous transformations when we align our efforts towards improving healthcare and patient outcomes,” said Flores.
Just last week, PhilHealth launched its new benefits package for adult and pediatric post-kidney transplant patients, who suffer from chronic kidney disease.
