THE Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra stages its next series of online concerts billed as The PPO Spotlight: Virtual Pocket Performances to be streamed on May 21, 2021 at 8pm, Friday through the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Website.
Program for the May 21 concert, which focuses on Latin Music, features the following pieces such as Bahia Norteño by Jeremy Cohen to be played by Berny Dulce Payte, (Violin) and Ariston Payte III (Double Bass); Tico-Tico no Fubá for 5 Trumpets by Zequinha de Abreu to be performed by Glober Calambro (Trumpet); La Bamba (Mexican Folk Song) to be rendered by Glober Calambro (Trumpet), Edwin Matias (Trumpet), Jay-Ar Mesa (French Horn), Ricson Poonin (Trombone), Benedicto Dela Peret Jr., Ederic Sampedro (Drums and Guijo); Noites Cariocas by Jacob Pick Bittencourt to be interpreted by Dino Akira Decena (Violin), Jose Carlo Tuazon (Violin), Rey Casey Concepcion (Viola), Giuseppe Andre Diestro (Cello), Ariston Payte III (Double Bass), Aimee Dela Cruz (Mallets), Elizalde Tolentino and Ederic Sampedro (Percussions), and Floro Sernande (Guest Percussionist).
The PPO Online Pocket Performance Series, which runs from February to July 2021, is a program of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra that can be viewed from the PPO FB page and the CCP YouTube as platforms.
