Marc Tomas, past president of Ikebana International Manila Chapter 108 and member of Sogetsu Potential Manila chapter will again share his expertise on the Ikebana-Sogetsu Japanese flower arrangement in a four-session workshop for beginners at Sunshine Place.
The workshop will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, May 8, 15, 22, and 29.
Tomas has been teaching Ikebana classes at Sunshine Place since 2017 and his students have participated in several exhibits that showcase their creativity.
In this introduction to the Ikebana workshop, participants will learn the basics of this Japanese art of flower arrangement namely the upright Moribana style, basic slanting and Variation # 4 with movements, basic Nagiri style and combination of Moribana and Nagiri arrangements.
Participants are encouraged to bring their gardening scissors. Starter kits that include flowers for the four sessions, kenzan and a vertical and horizontal vase ase are available at the venue.
The workshop will be conducted on May 8, 15, 22, and 29. Slots are limited for the face-to-face lecture-demonstrations.
