In addition, he said the PCSO is also focusing its efforts towards generating new funds to expand its medical assistance programs.

The former local executive also said that the agency is looking at ways to work more closely with mayors and other government frontliners.

“The mayors are in the frontline of government service, kayo ang mas nakakaalam ng nangyayari sa ground (they know what is happening on the ground), so it is very important that our agency support the local executives,” said Cua, who formerly served as governor and representative of Quirino province.

During the convention, Cua likewise shared insights on local governance and emphasized the importance of networking to generate more funds to support sustainable development efforts.

He also told the mayors about his guiding principles in public service, which he coined with the acronym “GREAT,” which stands for Good governance, Right-sizing, Efficiency, Accountability, and Transparency.
