PHILIPPINE Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) chairman Junie E. Cua wants office branches established in each of the country’s 82 provinces to boost its services to the Filipino people.
“Maganda po kung magkaroon ng branch sa 82 lalawigan ng bansa, alinsunod sa marching order ni President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. na palawakin pa ang coverage ng mga pinaglilingkuran ng PCSO (Putting up a branch in each of the 82 provinces will be in compliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to expand the coverage of the PCSO so we can serve more people,” Cua said.
The PCSO has 72 branch offices as of the end of 2022.
Cua is hopeful more branches would be opened this year.
“Kaunting push na lang at magiging realidad na ang 82 PCSO branch offices (Our goal of having 82 PCSO branch offices will soon become a reality). Hopefully, with eight months more to go this year, we can do something to close that gap,” he said.
The chairman said having a branch in every province would be more convenient for the public as those seeking medical assistance would no longer have to travel far to avail of PCSO services.
Cua also said the PCSO is taking steps to digitalize its operations to make its services more accessible to the public.
“Eventually we hope to make it so that those seeking assistance can apply even without going to branch offices,” Cua said.
