In his sophomore exhibit at Newport World Resorts, Disney-licensed artist Rodel Gonzalez teamed up with the Marriott Worldwide Business Councils (MWBC), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Marriott International, to donate a portion of the proceeds of The Manila Art Show 2024 to Save The Children Philippines. Gonzalez’s available collection includes intricate iterations celebrating Lunar New Year and vivid acrylic paintings of Philippine landscapes, showcased and on sale until February 28 at The Link by Marriott.
Save The Children Philippines is a long-standing partner and beneficiary of the MWBC, supporting the lives and growth of the future generation together. The collaboration with Gonzalez exemplifies the power of art to inspire positive change, proving that creativity and compassion can come together to make a lasting difference.
A renowned artist on canvas and on stage, Gonzalez is familiar with kindling hope for tomorrow through his works. Last February 9, he shared his insights and artistry to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) within the New Bilibid Prison (NBP). Captivating a group studying fine arts as part of the NBP’s rehabilitation program, he conducted a live painting demonstration using limited tools and improvisation. The result is a testament to human creativity and unbreakable spirit. The painting titled “Daybreak” is now open for bidding with the entire proceeds going to the purchase of art materials to help the budding artists of the NBP in their journey of learning and artistic creation.
