WATSONS Philippines own brand Naturals by Watsons has heeded the call to promote and protect the environment as well as eliminate more waste by opening its very first refill station at its SM Megamall outlet.

Customers can now refill their clean empty Naturals by Watsons bottles with their favorite variants: aloe vera shampoo, coffee shampoo, argan shampoo, olive shampoo, and aloe vera body wash.

Viki Encarnacion, Watsons Philippines PR and Sustainability director, said that the brand’s refill station has a dispenser that will pump the product directly into the bottle.

The pump dispenser does away with personal contact with anyone, so customers can be assured there is no contamination. This also ensures that the integrity of the product is not compromised.

Refills will be 30 to 40 percent cheaper than the full bottle, and customers can save money for their essentials while saving the planet. “So, you’re hitting two birds with one stone,” she added.

“Today, it is not enough anymore to look good and feel great,” she said. “We also have to do good for the planet.” Encarnacion advised customers to switch to sustainable choices and bring their own reusable bags.

Katrine Salvador, Naturals by Watsons brand manager, cited three main brand values: natural, worry-free, and love.

“All of the products for Naturals by Watsons are formulated with over 90 percent natural ingredients,” Salvador said. “They are also dermatologically tested and follow the European standard.”

According to Salvador, “real beauty cares for life and also respects the future,” which means the products are not tested on animals and follow the ISO 14001 standard.

The Naturals by Watsons bottles are made out of recycled plastics. “The cosmetic refilling initiative hopes to answer plastic leakage that ends up in the ocean,” she added.

Limited edition aluminum bottles will also be launched so that more customers can try the refill offer.
