SB Finance, an affiliate of Security Bank, has joined forces with financial educator Salve Duplito to launch a comprehensive financial literacy initiative.
The collaboration was formalized with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and introduced the ‘Utang Manual,’ a financial literacy book tailored for SB Finance employees and customers.
Abbie Dans-Casanova, president and chief executive officer of SB Finance, emphasized the importance of financial literacy: “We view financial literacy as a means to empower individuals with the knowledge to make informed decisions that positively impact their futures.”
She said that partnering with Duplito’s Empower and Transform allows them to provide their employees and customers with essential financial tools and knowledge, fostering a culture of financial responsibility that extends beyond their immediate community.
The ‘Utang Manual’ is at the heart of this partnership. It serves as a practical guide designed by Duplito to help SB Finance employees and customers better manage their finances. The manual includes actionable advice on improving financial health and disseminating financial management knowledge within the community.
Salve Duplito, a well-regarded advocate for financial education in the Philippines and a notable TV news anchor and radio host, commented, “Financial education is crucial for personal empowerment and economic stability.”
She said that their collaboration aims to provide employees and customers with practical financial skills, demystify financial concepts, and foster a financially literate society.
Following the launch of the ‘Utang Manual,’ Duplito and her team will conduct a series of financial literacy workshops designed to equip SB Finance employees and customers with key financial management skills, promoting a culture of financial responsibility and empowerment. — EDISON JOSEPH GONZALES
