Now that the pandemic has dampened their morale, fashion designer Marianne Martin wants to make women feel confident through the latest collection she will unveil on Thursday, March 24, 6 pm at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ortigas.

“Women had to endure a lot since the pandemic started,” notes Martin. Thus, she wants to inspire and boost their confidence through her collection .

The overall feel is “soft but fierce.”

Her collection will revolve around the colors sky blue, yellow and white.

Martin explains that sky blue projects the calmness and tranquility of water. Yellow is or optimism, enthusiasm and positivity. White stands for a woman’s purity and cleanliness of heart.

White also reminds us to choose a leader “with a pure heart for the people.”

In a nod to the challenging pandemic times Martin said her new collection will have less beads, Swarovski crystals and other embellishments. The touches of luxury will be subtle and less dramatic.

Martin believes fashion should not only express beauty. It should also have social relevance and help the community cope with present problems.

Models will walk the ramp in informal wear like mini skirts and shorts and formal ball gowns. There will be a mix of operatic ball gowns, construction and clothes inspired by dream cuts.
