YOUNG musicians take center stage as the Manila Symphony Junior String Quartet serenades you in the latest Sunshine Place musical presentation in its online series via the Sunshine Place: Senior Recreation Center’s YouTube Channel. This can be viewed until December 31.
The Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra is the youth orchestra program of the Manila Symphony Orchestra. It was formed in 2014 and composed of students from the MSO Music Academy, as well as young string players from all over the Philippines.
The quartet featuring violinists Jeanne Rafaella Marquez and Emmanuel John (EJ) Villarin, violist Lance Morrison Tulagan and cellist Justin Louis Talusan will be performing selections from Beethoven’s Razumovsky String Quartet, Halvorsen’s Passacaglia and Dvorak’s American Quartet. They will also delight us with Filipino compositions arranged by J. Solares like A. Pena’s Kailan Pa Man, A. Molina’s Hating Gabi, and E Palaruna’s Cebuano Medley.
