Learn Tai Chi

Sunshine Place opens its Mindful Movement Class with instructress Ms. Irene Chia where students will learn Tai Chi.

An internal Chinese martial art for self-defense that also promotes health, it is ideal for those who are looking for a gentle form of exercise to indulge in.  Tai Chi helps maintain strength, flexibility and balance. It is also a moving meditation that is beneficial to mental health. Students will be taught a routine sequence of slow movements and deep breathing. There are several health benefits of Tai Chi. Among these, according to the website https://www.healthline.com/ include increasing body awareness, improving cognition, reduction of risk and fear of falling, and easing of arthritis pain.

Classes are scheduled every Saturday with two time slots: 8:45-9:45 am and 1:00-2:00 pm. It is an eight-session class with additional two free sessions for enrollees of the complete course.
