Marc Tomas begins another Ikebana-Sogetsu for Beginners workshop in May at the Sunshine Place.
The workshop will have four sessions every Wednesday on May 8, 15, 22, and 29 from 10:00 am-12:00 noon.
Tomas, former President of Ikebana International Manila Chapter 108 and member of Sogetsu Potential Manila Chapter, has been teaching Ikebana classes at Sunshine Place since 2017.
In this Introduction to Ikebana Workshop, participants will learn the basics of Japanese art of flower arrangement – upright Moribana style, basic slanting & Variation # 4 with movements, basic Nagiri Style and combination of Moribana & Nagiri Arrangements. The workshop will be conducted in person with limited slots.
A starter kit is available at Sunshine Place that includes flowers for the duration of the workshop, kenzan and a vertical and horizontal base. Students are encouraged to bring their own gardening scissors for the class.
