GRAND Hyatt Manila believes that as people look forward to exploring the world anew, getting together with friends and returning to a somewhat “normal” way of life, its top priorities for welcoming guests and colleagues back to the hotel is to deliver its services safely with their wellbeing in mind.

Located at 8th Avenue corner 35th Street in the bustling metropolis of Bonifacio Global City, the center of glamorous lifestyle, thriving business and luxury living, the hotel has introduced different BBQ-themed concepts such as the Bamboo Grill, American Beef Grill and South-East Asian Spice Grill as well as make-your-own refreshing summer cocktails, among others.

The main focus is on the pool and outdoor areas and activities. For something more relaxing, guests can marvel at the magnificent view of the Manila sunset from The Peak restaurant.

A special P500 gift certificate for every senior Filipino citizen who has been fully vaccinated was introduced. The hotel hopes families will utilize it to enjoy being together again after the prolonged lockdowns.

Gottfried Bogensperger, general manager and area vice president, said the safety and wellbeing of customers and associates are the hotel’s topmost priority.

Bogensperger also said the hotel has obtained the highest recognition in terms of safety standards in the industry. It maintains the highest standards in terms of food safety, hygiene and sanitization, and is mindful about social spacing.

“This pandemic has made it even clearer that we need each other and we need to interact with each other,” he pointed out. “It is wonderful and heartwarming to see people laughing and smiling again.”

At present, almost 85 percent of all its associates already received at least their first vaccine dose and over 45 percent have obtained their two shots and are fully vaccinated.

The hotel is proud of the commitment its associates have toward maximizing the safety of the hotel environment, “so that our guests and patrons can have peace of mind as they enjoy being with their friends and family again,” Bogensperger said.

The grand place that features modern conveniences and spacious layouts likewise has several special staycation packages on offer and introduced double World of Hyatt points for some packages.

“We are currently offering staycation packages to different credit card companies where varied benefits can be enjoyed,” Bogensperger said.

He added that people are now placing greater focus on healthy eating habits and nutritional values in general, with many of them less willing to share food items. They also want to feel confident that their rooms have been properly sanitized, highest standards of air quality/filtering are in place, and associates are safe and well trained to handle sanitation issues.

While the hotel encountered challenges on many fronts over the past year, “we were very fortunate that our owner was also committed to maintaining talent and protecting the livelihoods of our associates,” Bogensperger noted.

The recovery could be slow and it’s likely to take years before seeing businesses rebound, he said, adding the local community will play a major role in terms of reigniting the food and beverage industry.
