Homage to Amorsolo

In recognition of the legacy and enduring influence to subsequent generations of visual artists, Galerie Joaquin pays tribute to the first Filipino National Artist Fernando Cueto Amorsolo, the prolific portraitist and painter whose oeuvre exquisitely illuminated the genuine essence of the Filipino spirit.

A spectrum of efforts by Galerie Joaquin’s select roster of notable artists present the theories, techniques, and themes which serve as catalysts for intersectional understanding and application of Amorsolo’s various degrees of execution and intentionality.

The works featured in “Homage to Amorsolo” are in reverence to the artist’s distinct motif and figures, exemplifying respect and admiration for his superb talent and artistry. The exhibit aspires to reacquaint the audience to the magnitude of the maestro’s timeless relevance and pertinence even in this contemporary phase in the Philippine art industry.

Featuring works by Joseph Albao, William Alvarez, Barbara Angeles, Vic Bachoco, Richard Buxani, Aisha Cajade, Joy Calanasan, Janddie Castillo, Nelson Castillo, Astrid Castillo, Brando Cedeño, Joemarie Sanclaria Chua, Jomar Delluba, Patrick Esmao, Francis Evangelista, Patricia Gan, Siefred Guilaran, Ella Hipolito, Ronnie Lim, Denmark Maribojoc, Ambit Mendoza, Almer Moneda, Jerry Morada, Emmanuel Nim, Milmar Onal, Perfecto Palero, Ada Panopio, Averil Paras, Jax Pasimio, Ted Peñaflor, Richard Perez, Aljo Pingol, Jun Rocha, Aner Sebastian, Ralph Villaluz, and Mario Villanueva, the exhibit represents the cumulative perspective on the impact of Fernando Amorsolo’s artistic triumph and brilliance.

“Homage to Amorsolo” group exhibition will run from August 22-31 at Galerie Joaquin BGC.

There will be an Artist Reception on Monday, August 29 at 5PM.

The gallery is located at the Upper Ground Floor, One Bonifacio High Street Mall, 5th Ave. Corner 28th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
