Malaysian company Mr. Toy, the toy store brand of home renovation store Mr. DIY has officially entered the Philippine market with the opening of its first store in Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall. Operating under the tagline “Always Low Prices, Always Fun”, the new toy store which was founded and established in 2019 aims to offer an assortment of affordable high-quality toys that fit the various interests of Filipino children. The store has nine different categories which include Vehicles & Remote Control, Pretend Play & Costumes, and Learning, Fun & Games.
Affordable prices aside, Mr. Toy products have been tested to ensure that they are safe to play with by their intended audience. “We understand the importance of ensuring that childrens’ toys are not only fun, but also safe to use. Because of this, we are proud to say that our toys are EN71-certified,” MR. Toy executives said during the store opening.

The EN-71 Toy Safety Standard was implemented to ensure the safety of children’s toys and prevent harmful products from entering the EU market. It specifies safety requirements for toys and covers all aspects of safety for children — materials, design, construction, assembly, labeling and packaging, including mechanical and physical testing such as torsion, flex, pull, impact, and drop testing. It also includes other tests such as flammability safety, and chemical analysis tests.
With the -ber months rolling in, Mr Toy aims to be one of the top-of-mind stores for parents and godparents looking to buy Christmas presents for the little ones. The toy store will also be opening its second branch at Ayala Malls Feliz soon, with other stores opening nationwide before the year ends, ensuring that quality toys are within easy reach of every Filipino family.
