Grocery chain marks 2 decades of success

Puregold has marked the start of the Puregold Sari-Sari Store Convention 2024. This year, Susan Co, chairman of Puregold Price Club Inc., said that they are commemorating significant milestones.

“First, we are just four stores away from reaching 500 Puregold locations; and second, because 2024 marks the 20th year of our TNAP program,” Co said. “For all our Ka-Asenso, we have been together for 20 years in the ‘Always Panalo’ business.”

As they celebrate two decades of coming together to learn, grow, and succeed, they embrace the theme “Asenso Tayo,” which holds a powerful message that Co believes resonates deeply with everyone present at the convention.

“Ang asenso ay para sa lahat – hindi asenso ‘ka’ o asenso ‘ako’… ‘Asenso Tayo.’ And we achieve this with our collective ideas and initiatives,” she pointed out.

According to Co, sari-sari store and small business owners continue to face a tough economic landscape. “It seems no one is spared. From competition to varying market trends, the road to success is not always easy.”

But by standing together, by sharing knowledge and experiences, “we can create a network of support that will help us push through even the toughest of times,” she stressed.

In the face of daily challenges, obstacles, and adversity, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and defeated. “But by coming together as a community, we become stronger,” she added.

Proof of that power is Puregold ending the year 2023 with 850,000 sari-sari store members and about 50,000 karinderya members. “That’s 900,000 micro, small, and medium thriving entrepreneurs and counting,” Co stated.

“We have a continued, shared responsibility to be the most convenient source of assorted, high-quality goods at the best prices,” she noted, adding that they have the edge to assist and sustain more lives through the TNAP program.

For Co, being ‘panalo’ is not just a goal to be achieved but a mindset to live by. She assured that Puregold will continue to innovate and inspire all Ka-Asensos in the decades to come.

The TNAP program has grown to over 900,000 MSME members, including both sari-sari store owners and food establishment owners.

Both sari-sari store and food establishment members recorded an all-time high of regularly buying members.

Puregold will continue its aggressive strategy of offering the lowest prices, a wide and complete assortment, and quality products.
