Winford Manila Resort & Casino (WMRC)turns back the clock on June 14, 18, & 28, 2022 with live performances by Generation X matinee idol Gino Padilla at WMRC’s entertainment hub Hippodrome Bar & Lounge.
Padilla is often credited for popularizing the song “Closer, You and I” composed by Louie Ocampo which was famously used for a toothpaste commercial in the 1980s. He was among the generation of artists that helped launch the careers of Timmy Cruz and Raymond Lauchengco.
His first big break was in a soft drink commercial shot in Hollywood, California, where he had a duet with ‘80s pop icon Tina Turner. Following a hiatus from the limelight, Padilla returned to recording in the new millennium, with Sharon Cuneta producing his comeback album.
WMRC invites guests to take a walk down memory lane with Gino Padilla as he performs some of the songs that made him famous, as well as cover versions of well-known hits.
General admission to this next normal concert experience is free, with VIP seating near the stage available for aPHP500.00 cover charge, inclusive of food and drink. Hippodrome Bar & Lounge is located on the second floor of the 22-story resort and welcomes guests aged 21 years and above.
