As part of joint efforts to support underserved sectors of society in the second year of the pandemic, BDO Foundation, Beiersdorf Philippines and U.S.-Philippines Society provided aid for economically disadvantaged and disaster-affected communities.
The corporate social responsibility arm of BDO Unibank facilitated the distribution of food packs donated by Beiersdorf and U.S.-Philippines Society to more than 1,600 families in seven provinces namely Aklan, Capiz, Cebu, Iloilo, Leyte, Pangasinan and Western Samar.
The initiative was conducted through the partners’ beneficiary-rural health units or RHUs namely Alangalang Municipal Health Center, Leyte; Bogo City Main Health Center, Northern Cebu; Basey Municipal Health Center, Western Samar; Cabatuan Main Health Center, Iloilo; Carigara Municipal Health Center, Leyte; Catbalogan Main Health Center, Western Samar; New Washington Municipal Health Center, Aklan; Pastrana Rural Health Unit, Leyte; Roxas City Main Health Center, Capiz; and Sta. Barbara Rural Health Unit and Birthing Center, Pangasinan.
The rural health unit in Pastrana was rehabilitated by BDO Foundation and U.S.-Philippines Society. The rest of the health centers, on the other hand, were rehabilitated by the foundation and Beiersdorf, the global skincare company behind the NIVEA brand.Last year, BDO Foundation and Beiersdorf Philippines also distributed thousands of NIVEA products to the aforementioned health facilities as well as communities in Batangas City, Sto. Tomas City, Tagaytay City and Caption: BDO Foundation, Beiersdorf Philippines and U.S.-Philippines Society provided food packs to economically disadvantaged communities through rural health units.
