Fashion designer Ellis Co has made waves since he entered the fashion scene in 2022. His artistic direction draws inspiration from brutalist architecture and Japanese sensibilities which result in pieces that subvert garment shapes and function.
Co continues to show his growth with his latest fashion show for his upscale Filipino fashion brand .ARCHIVE which took place last July 28. Titled the “ARC 02: Digital Oasis,” Ellis Co’s latest fashion show took the audience on an extraordinary journey into a realm of innovation and imagination. Jerome Lorico, .ARCHIVES’ Creative Consultant and Production Manager under KONZEPT.KONZEPT, together with .ARCHIVES’ Creative Director, Aya Reika Mayani, orchestrated a captivating show centered around the collection’s 44 unique looks, meticulously crafted to perfection.
“The Rakuten and Misibis Show definitely allowed me to have a more in-depth understanding of how to make a cohesive and impactful collection,” said Co. “As a starting designer, I open myself to criticism and learning experiences, to be able to better translate my ideas into garments.”
With its resounding success, the “Digital Oasis” fashion show served as another significant stepping stone in Ellis Co’s artistic journey. The triumph of the event propelled Ellis Co’s reputation even further and solidified his position as an emerging trailblazer in the fashion industry. The positive response and recognition garnered from the show opened doors to new opportunities, collaborations, and creative ventures for Ellis Co.
With three successful fashion shows under its belt, .ARCHIVES has had a year full of innovation and artistic exploration. Each fashion show has been a testament to Ellis Co’s visionary approach, showcasing his ability to create statement pieces that push boundaries and captivate audiences.
“I am very excited for what the future holds for .ARCHIVES,” said Co. “After ARC 02, my team and I will focus on getting consigned in different stores. We’re hoping .ARCHIVES will be able to reach a wider audience locally and internationally.”
