As more and more people turn to vlogging and dream of becoming the next hit content creator, competition has become fiercer and standing out in the crowd has become harder.
To help budding content creators make a name for themselves, Smart Communications, Inc. has teamed up with YouTube for NextUp, a search and training program for the next generation of Filipino content creators.
“We believe that we have a wealth of passionate and creative young Filipinos who are just waiting to be discovered and given the opportunity to hone their craft. With NextUp, we are giving them a platform to let their creativity shine and learn from today’s top creators so they can take their passion to a whole new level,” said Jane J. Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.
Twelve Filipino content creators will be given a chance to participate in an online creator camp that brings together NextUp alumni, production mentors, and current YouTube content creators to impart valuable tips, the latest techniques, and strategies to elevate your channel to the next level and go beyond your limits by growing your content creation skills.
“YouTube is all about the content creators and we’re committed to supporting their discovery and growth. We hope to enable not just the finalists but all the NextUp participants, so more creators can benefit from this amazing initiative. Together with Smart, we will hone their skills and help them seize the economic opportunities that come with having a growing YouTube channel,” said Marc Lefkowitz, Director of YouTube Partner Development and Management, APAC.
As part of the NextUp program, each of the 12 finalists will also take-home equipment vouchers worth PHP100,000 and data offers, among others. From the 12 winners, at least three creators will bag a 12-month endorsement contract with Smart to work on the brand’s exciting productions and campaigns.
The applicants who won’t be part of the 12 finalists can still elevate their YouTube skills through NextUp’s series of online workshops that will cover a wide array of topics such as video production and audience development, among others.
