CENTURY Tuna, the leading canned tuna in the Philippines, recently staged the Century Tuna Superbods Finals Night, pulling all the stops to make sure the highly awaited event was nothing short of remarkable.
Finishing strong as the hottest and sexiest event of the year, the show, with its exciting segments, marveled the audience featuring the 32 Superbods finalists showcasing their personalities in fit and healthy bodies, as well as explosive performances from very special guests.
Held at Harbor Garden Tent, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, the official venue for this year’s competition, and hosted by Mond Gutierrez, Sam YG and Gelli Victor, this year’s show also featured the Superbods Ambassadors Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards in an exciting laser dance number, as well as Kyle Echarri who serenaded the audience.
Apart from the awe-inspiring numbers, the panel of judges was also a powerhouse: multi-hyphenated star Ann Curtis, founder and chairman of HOPE Nanette Medved-Po, 2014 Superbods winner and SEA Games medalist Mauro Lumba and Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne.
Joining the panel were: Greg Banzon, Century Pacific Food Inc. (CPFI) executive vice president and chief operating officer; Carlo Endaya, CPFI vice president and general manager for Tuna Division; and Carol San Pedro, PC&V Communications Inc. president and chief creative officer.
The 32 finalists, who have inspired others with their stories that live out the “Stay Strong to Live Strong” campaign message, paraded on stage in street wear, swimwear and evening resort wear before the 8 finalists from each division were called: (female) Christelle Abello, Michelle Arceo, Pearl Gonzales, Julia Mendoza, Kerri Reilly, Selena Reyes, Vienna Shirin and Kim Velasco; (male) Kirk Bondad, Gee Plamenco Jr., George Baker, Wani Manotoc, Paul Pedley, Patrick Ramirez, James Santamaria and Erik Visser.
After taking the lion’s share of the special awards, Kirk Bondad and Christelle Abello were declared as grand winners, taking home P500,000 each, while runners-up Gee Plamenco Jr. and Michelle Arceo won P200,000 each, tax-free, plus a year’s supply of Century Tuna products and other prizes.
“Congratulations to the winners and all the participants this year. I hope they will continue to inspire Filipinos long after the competition is over,” Carlo Endaya said.
