CDO Foodsphere Inc. launched a vaccine information campaign for its employees to help them prepare for the national vaccine rollout expected to happen early this year.

“We understand the sentiment of some of our people on the safety of the various COVID-19 vaccines that are being made available to Filipinos,” said Jerome D. Ong, President and CEO of Foodsphere.

Foodsphere organized a learning session called “Handa Ka Na Ba Sa Bakuna?” for company executives.

The panel of medical experts and researchers for the sessions included Dr. Cynthia P. Saloma, Executive Director of the Philippine Genome Center; Dr. Nina Gloriani, Chair of the DOST Expert Vaccine Panel on COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trials and Member of the WHO Scientific Steering Committee for COVID-19 Solidarity Vaccines Trial; and Dr. Reynaldo Mariano, President and CEO of the Center for Health Services Inc. and an infectious disease specialist.

“What CDO Foodsphere is doing is a good practice to help make the general population appreciate the vaccine program,” said Dr. Gloriani.

CDO Foodsphere said that with vaccines expected to arrive as early as February, it is important that people understand the importance of getting immunized.

“If convincing everyone begins with a simple information campaign, then by all means, I would like to encourage other companies and organizations to do the same,” Ong said.

Foodsphere, maker of known brands such as San Marino, CDO Karne Norte and Danes Cheese, was one of the first companies that secured the initial 2.6 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca through the tripartite agreement with private donors led by Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion, AstraZeneca and the Philippine government.
