Beer-infused dishes to bite into

Beer and food have always gone hand-in-hand. In the Philippines, no beer drinking session would be complete without some pulutan or finger food to accompany ice cold glasses of the amber liquid. San Miguel Brewery takes this pairing further as it partners with Draft Restaurant & Brewery in Rockwell Center, Makati to develop dishes that use San Miguel Premium Beers as a highlight ingredient.

For starters, the Spicy Blanca Shrimp is sure to tickle taste buds with a fiery kick. Every bite is made even more zesty with the infusion of the refreshing San Miguel Cerveza Blanca, whose fruity flavor plays well with the green notes of the finger chili that is judiciously used in the dish. However, those with a low tolerance for spice need not be concerned as the heat is mild, proving a warming sensation that beckons diners to take another bite.

Meanwhile, the Midnight Melt Cheesy Onion Soup is a take on the classic French Onion Soup. The sweetness of the caramelized onions is accentuated with the use of San Miguel Cerveza Negra whose slight bitterness and caramel notes serve as a base for the hearty broth.

Pub fare would not be complete without fish and chips and the Brewer’s Catch features fillets battered with a San Miguel Premium All-Malt batter base. This results in a light and crisp exterior coating with a whisper of malty sweetness.

In addition to their special beer-infused dishes, Draft Restaurant & Brewery also offers a lineup of beer-match items in their menu including Pork & Fennel Sausage, Buffalo Wings, Chicken Skewers, Pork Schnitzel, Pork Skewers, and their signature Sisig Pizza. These could be paired with the different beers under the San Miguel Premium Beers lineup.

From the rich and dark San Miguel Cerveza Negra with its hints of caramel, coffee, and chocolate; the Cerveza Blanca, a Belgian-style wheat-ale brewed with citrus, coriander, and spices; the full-flavored European-style San Miguel Premium All-Malt; to SMB’s master brewers’ personal favorite, the aromatic San Miguel Super Dry, each combination is worth experiencing.
