ANGELA Taloza is an unassuming fashion designer from Cagayan Valley who has dressed up scores of celebrities and beauty queens in her 10 fruitful years in the industry.

To mention a few: Ann Curtis, Nadine Lustre, Yassi Pressman, Janella Salvador, Ellen Adarna, Cristine Reyes, Karla Estrada, Morisette Amon, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe Philippines titlists Venus Raj, Ariella Arida, Gazini Ganados, Rabiya Mateo and Luigi Gomez; Miss Earth winners Lindsay Coffey, Destiny Wagner and Mina Sue Choi; Miss Globe Maureen Montagne.

The long list of the luminaries she has glammed up in classy, exquisite creations goes on, and Angela can only be sincerely grateful to all the people who believed in her for finally getting the break she needed after years of struggling as a newbie designer.

Recently, Angela was awarded as one of the most promising international fashion designers at a glamorous fashion event held in Bangkok, Thailand.

“I proudly share this recognition with all my fellow Filipinos in the fashion industry, especially those who believe in me and have been supporting me all these years,” Angela enthused. “Without them, good people around me, my brand means nothing. But above all, I give back this glory to Our Creator who always gives me strength to go beyond my creativity.”

Misty-eyed, Angela recalls her struggles when she was just starting, the momentary frets when no one believed in her abilities. “But I am a very strong, independent person and I just had to go on,” Angela related. “I kept myself busy, knowing my hard work and perseverance will be rewarded in God’s good time.”

“When I celebrate my 10 years in the fashion business, maybe I will call it ‘Araw Gabi’ because there were many occasions I would turn nights into days, staying up late to finish my creations,” she mused. “I really strove hard to give my family a good life, having come from a life where we were financially challenged.”

Hailing from Lasam, Cagayan, Angela graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Industrial Design (specifications in Fashion Design) from Philippines Women’s University. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree, also at PWU.

Indeed, Angela can only look back with humility and gratitude amidst the success she achieved from years of dedication, passion and perseverance to the craft she embraced.
