Students, parents, and teachers flocked to the Ortigas Wing of Robinsons Galleria Ortigas as the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) brought together different educational institutions across the European Union to highlight the ways that Filipinos can study abroad.
The annual event brought together this year over 70 schools and universities, allowing guests to peruse through the diverse range of programs offered during the EHEF this year. These programs included language courses all the way to post-graduate degrees with the possibility of employment in host countries upon completion of their studies.
The different educational institutions, embassies, and cultural offices of the EU member-states also put up booths where interested applicants can ask questions and have their concerns addressed by experts. These booths also served as sneak previews of what it would be like to study in the different countries.
Throughout the two-day event, attendees participated in informative talks, panel discussions, and workshops featuring EU ambassadors and Filipino alumni of the Erasmus+ program.
The Erasmus+ program, funded by the European Union, offers scholarships for studying, training, and volunteering in Europe. Filipino Erasmus+ alumni shared their experiences and insights, inspiring aspiring students to pursue their dreams abroad.
Speakers from Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Austria, France, Finland, and Hungary shared why their countries are a good fit for Filipino students as well as young professionals who wish to take up further studies. There were also presentations from different schools on the opportunity to take up online courses accredited by the European Higher Education Institute for their post-graduate studies. This avenue allows Filipinos to experience European education without having to go to the other side of the globe.
Aside from its onsite presence, EHEF also held a one-day online fair via Zoom. This allowed interested participants living outside Metro Manila to still be able to attend the education fair and learn about the perks of studying in Europe and the different schools that they can apply to.
By attending EHEF, Filipinos can gain a deeper understanding of the European higher education system, explore cultural exchange opportunities, and network with potential employers and academic institutions.
