Fitz Herrera composes unique expressions of creative energy by combining spontaneity, individuality, and expertise to produce rhythmic patterns in his art. His use of a harmonious palette covers the whole canvas, with its overlapping layers that ebb and flow– creating pace, resonance, and depth. The liberal application of paint contrasts with structure, mirroring duality and reflecting life’s complexities.
The artist’s latest exhibit titled “Affirmations: A Happy Mood” is an acknowledgement of the intrinsic truth of life, as he presents notions of acceptance and coexistence as an abstraction. The works aim to encourage the viewer to accept perceived differences from various perspectives, as well as recognize sameness, a common ground. The accordance of colors is the foundation of Herrera’s art practice, honoring balance and creating a sense of peace which he aims to manifest.
Herrera’s art presents opportunities for optimistic self-discovery– to find a sense of purpose within and embrace it. Inspired by the phrase “acceptance is the key to happiness”, the artist intends to share the positive experiences and emotions that art evokes, aiming to defeat desolation with love, joy, and hope.
