Panahon sa Taiwan, a highly anticipated event promoting Taiwan tourism, was successfully held recently at SMX, Clark and Conrad Manila Hotel, Pasay City. The event highlighted the unique attractions and experiences that make Taiwan a beloved destination for Filipino tourists.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome speech by Mr. Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines. Mr. Richard G. Agustin, Chief Tourism Operations Officer of Market Development Division, Office of Product and Market Development, Department of Tourism of the Republic of the Philippines, also delivered insightful remarks, emphasizing the strong bond between Taiwan and the Philippines in the tourism sector.
One of the event’s highlights was the lucky draw, where attendees had the chance to win flight tickets to Taiwan. This exciting prize added an element of anticipation and excitement to the event, leaving attendees thrilled and eager to explore the wonders of Taiwan.
Another significant announcement made during the event was the introduction of the “Accelerated and Expanded Inbound Tourism Promotion Program.” This program aims to further enhance the experience of independent and group travelers visiting Taiwan. Independent travelers will have the opportunity to win a $5,000 NTD shopping voucher, while group travelers can enjoy cash incentives ranging from $5,000 NTD to $50,000 NTD based on the group’s size and duration of stay.
According to survey results, Filipino tourists have expressed a strong preference for certain attractions in Taiwan. The signature Taipei 101, the magnificent architecture of the National Taichung Theater, and the breathtaking scenery of bright orange day lilies blooming across the hillsides of Sixty Stone Mountain in Hualien have emerged as the top favorite scenic spots among Filipino tourists. These attractions offer a unique blend of culture, architecture, and natural beauty that captivate the hearts of visitors.
Filipinos have increasingly shown a fondness for traveling to Taiwan, and there are several reasons for this growing trend. Firstly, Taiwan offers Filipino visitor’s visa-free entry for a stay of up to 14 days until July 31st, 2024. This convenience has made it easier for Filipinos to explore the wonders of Taiwan. Additionally, the short travel time of only 2 hours from Manila to Taipei has made Taiwan an accessible and desirable destination for quick getaways and longer vacations alike. Furthermore, survey results indicate that the scenic beauty, delicious food, and excellent shopping destinations in Taiwan are the main factors that attract Filipino visitors.
Panahon sa Taiwan successfully showcased the best of Taiwan tourism and highlighted the reasons why Filipinos continue to choose Taiwan as their preferred travel destination. The event left attendees inspired to embark on their own Taiwan adventures and created a stronger bond between Taiwan and the Philippines in the tourism industry.
